Throughout the Bible it is abundantly clear God wants us to love one another. Its common sense, but sometimes we are completely blind and are inadvertently ignoring our neighbors. Now I know some of you believe the term neighbor is limited to the persons who live near you, but you couldn’t be more wrong. In fact, its a term that encompasses every individual you encounter on a daily basis. Believe it or not you likely have encountered a victim of human trafficking. Statistically speaking we all have, while that moment where you see this person may not be the opportune moment to help them, but there is no reason why you shouldn’t. There are over 27 million people who are in slavery today. A lot of people in the US believe since slavery has been abolished its no longer a problem, but again this is far from the truth. Human trafficking is an issue which impacts every state, country, and continent. Luckily for us there are a number of organizations who are helping the cause and deserve our support. It’s not everyone calling to go out and intervene, nor is it everyone calling to work with these individuals, but it is all of our calling to love and care for them. The End It movement is a movement which raises awareness for human trafficking victims, and is a coalition of different organizations who work with victims, prevention, and awareness. These are things we should be supporting. Taking a stand for out neighbors.
