blogpic.jpg.png.jpgIn today’s society, it’s hard not to get caught up in the stress of the world. Around every corner sometimes seems to be a stressor but as Christians, we should not carry this stress because our God is in control. It can be hard with such stressful politics. The daily grind can get to you. Family matters can weigh us down at times, and sometimes work is just overwhelming. We all go through this and there is little we can do to prevent the stress of the day, but thankfully there is plenty can do to limit its impact on us. We can place our trust in God. Far too often in the middle of the storm, we try to fix things on our own, but we are incapable of doing so. We are so caught up in our mess that we lose control. When we lose control we need to relinquish control to the One who can help and that is Jesus. So below are some verses which help us fight stress, anxiety, and fear and highlight the greatness and awesomeness of our God!

“We can confidently say, ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?’”
-Hebrews 13:6

“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.”
-Psalm 42:5

“Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.”
-Matthew 6:34

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
-Revelation 21:4

“We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”
-2 Corinthians 4:8-9

“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
-Psalm 23:1-6

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”
-1 Peter 5:5-7

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?  Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life”

-Matthew 6:25-27

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
-Philippians 4:6-7

“I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
-Psalm 34:4
